Frequently asked Questions

How does a house clearance work?
We will clear everything that's left in the property after you have taken anything you require. We leave you with nothing to clear, leaving you worry free.
I’ve been told I need to have my carpets removed as well, can you do this?
Yes, we often carry out clearances where we are required to take up and dispose of carpets and underlay. We also clear curtains/blinds and take down curtain poles and fittings as well.
I have a couple of sofas and 8 bags of rubbish I can’t fit in my bin, how much will this cost?
This isn’t the type of work we carry out. We only carry out house clearances that have contents throughout the property.
Do house clearances take everything from the property?
Yes, we will remove everything from the property. If we are pricing to clear your property we will also price to clear any garages/sheds/gardens that you also require clearing.
Do you have a waste carriers license?
Yes, Anglia House Clearance works with Reflections House Clearance who legally dispose of all waste at a skip recycling centre where zero percent goes to landfill. We have an upper tier waste carriers license to do this.
How long does a clearance take and do I need to be there?
Each job varies depending on size of property/ volume of contents/ distance to the vehicles to load. A clearance can take between half a day and up to 3 or 4 days. The average job will take a day and a half.
Do you have skips delivered?
No, we take absolutely everything away in our vans so there will never be a skip on site.
How much does a house clearance cost?
We work out the labour costs as well as the disposal costs of all waste/unusable items and then take into account anything you have that has a value and then we provide you with a free fixed quote.
Can you give me a quote over the phone?
We don’t usually give a quote over the phone. We prefer to come and meet you at the property that needs clearing at a time that’s convenient for you. We can then have a walk around with you to establish what needs clearing. We will then verbally give you a free fixed quote, which we will also email you the quote on the same day.
Do we need to be at the property whilst the clearance is taking place?
No. Often I will meet the customer at the start of the job to get the keys (sometimes there will be a key safe or a neighbour will have a key for us) and then meet the customer at the end of the job to have a walk around with them to show that everything has been cleared.
